Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, university campuses were closed for many months towards the end of the 2019-2020 academic year. The Fitsum Bahru Memorial Foundation (FBMF) continued to support many scholarship beneficiaries during this period and committed to providing the monthly stipend to all 2019-2020 beneficiaries during the 2020-2021 academic year. FBMF did not take on new beneficiaries this academic year, and instead continued working with partners at Addis Ababa University, Wollo University and Hope Enterprises to assist 2019-2020 scholarship recipients to successfully complete their classes once campuses reopened. At this time, 53 of our scholars have completed their studies and graduated from their respective universities. Our next round of scholarship beneficiaries, for the 2021-2022 academic year, will be selected and announced in the Fall of 2021.
